Birmingham Street Food Highlights

Zindiya Moseley

Come with me my friends on a odyssey of temptation around some of  Birmingham's best street food vendors. Look at this glorious street market themed decor!
Zindiya
Since going to the Seasonal Market at the Bond Company in April I have found some amazing restaurants and left in no doubt that Birmingham is having a foodie renaissance of lip-smacking tastiness.
Zindiya in Moseley wowed me with the best Indian food that I have ever tasted in Brum by some margin.
This lovely snack corner produced gorgeous onion bhajis, spicy chickpeas and delicious masala chips. Such strong yet delicate flavours.
For dessert how about Indian style carrot cake, mango sorbet or chocolate balls filled with strawberry pieces?
Add in a cocktail range designed by maestro Rob Wood with flavours featuring curry leaf and it's a big thumbs up from me.

El Borracho De Oro
A beautiful Spanish restaurant in Edgbaston is my idea of foodie heaven. I love the decor, you could fill your Instagram page with all the glorious fine details.
The tapas are incredibly authentic and that's why I give them 10 out of 10 for quality and taste.
Delicious squid, terrific chorizo, juicy chicken skewers and amazing patatas bravas. You must try everything!

Original Patty Men
It started with a succulent cubano in Quarter House Coffee and led to the best burgers I have ever tasted. Best Burger in Brum! The aged beef so full of flavour, the creamy cheese and indulgent toppings will wow you.
If you have a sweet tooth you will die for the bacon with maple syrup and the Big Vern donut burger was magnificent! The spiced fries below are even better with the ODB coleslaw added. How do they think of these things?! They must have world-beating taste buds to create such loveliness.
I was lucky enough to be in OPM on the night they launched new special the 'Bourbon Squealer". It comes with a jam made from whisky and bacon. It's lush!
 Even the drinks are cool.

Peel & Stone
When I showed my friends this bakery's location they commented it reminded them of Jack The Ripper! Don't let that put you off though.
They are Creative with a capital C. They do this amazing cinnamon swirl with pistachio, orange and raspberry. It's mind-blowing.
Peel & Stone make great sour dough bread, amazing sandwiches with fillings such as refried beans with avocado and Korean pulled pork with slaw and coriander. Below right is the amazing white chocolate and raspberry croissant.
 A cute shop.

 Indian Brewery Company

Birmingham seems to have taken the Indian Brewery Company very quickly to its heart. As well as the eclectic and unique beer range they have great street food which is amazing value and generous portions too.

Bombay wings, fat naans and masala fries all hit the spot.

Alpha Cafe
The genius that is David W Massey hosted the Birmingham Social Media Cafe meetup for June at the Alpha Tower cafe. Carefully look at the descriptions below. Don't they all sound like your new favourite! I had the raspberry and white chocolate brownie. Best brownie I have ever had as it's so juicy and sweet.
On weekends they make ice cream sandwiches. We are talking brownie crinkle cookies with cherry vanilla swirl ice cream. This is serious business.

Colmore Food Festival
Glynn Purnell demonstration
As soon as the Birmingham Social Media Cafe had finished on June 30th me and the cream of Birmingham's food bloggers headed straight over to the Colmore Food Festival.
All the top restaurants were doing dishes priced at only £4. For example Purnell's did slow cooked Ox cheeks which everyone devoured. I went straight over to Opus for the pork belly with cherries.
People still insist on feeding pigeons in public squares.
What a find Hindley's Bakery was.
Check out these flavours!
Damn straight you want that one!
Take the day off from Greggs and tuck into a pie from Jake's.

Finally
Super Bubble Waffle
We must innovate or die. Look at this dessert treat by Super Bubble Waffle in Grand Central. Buy one and everyone will stare at you with green jealous eyes. We had mango, strawberry ice creams and sweet strips in ours. Yum!
