London Grammar

With their debut album released last month, an eye-catching collaboration with Disclosure and a lot of excited reviews of how good they are live on tour currently it's London Grammar's time to shine.
The labels indie-pop and electro-pop do not do justice to the band's songs full of emotional vocals and sensual sounds.
Ace guitarist Dan Rothman found fantastic singer Hannah Reid at Nottingham University with percussion wiz Dot Major completing the terrific trio.
Hannah Reid's vocals remind many of Florence Welch. A voice full of colour and emotion that has an anthemic potential similar to Ms Mr singer Lizzy Plapinger.

'Strong' got to number 16 in the chart.

Their debut album If You Wait stormed to number two in the charts.
The song 'Wasting My Young Years' was written by Hannah about her ex-boyfriend.
Nme describe their album as 'a classy combination of pop hooks and trip-hop beats'.

They also described 'Wasting My Young Years' as majestic.

Finally
You can catch London Grammar live on tour now and early next year too.

Here's a taste of their brilliance live on Jools Holland

Chvrches

Do ya like a bit of Grimes? Partial to a little Charli XCX? Good then you should like Chvrches! They have a similar electropop flavour with cool sounds and brill vocals.
The Scottish trio who have just released their first album are one of the BBC's Sound of 2013 finalists.

Checkout debut single 'The Mother We Share'

Lauren Mayberry provides the stand out vocals to Iain Cook's and Martin Doherty's super synth sounds.
All 3 members have been in other bands but you can tell this is the one with the chemistry and sounds to do great things.
The v in Chvrches is to help you find the band on Google!
Lauren told NME magazine that her style icon is Winona Ryder "very understated and she's incredibly cool. Maybe she seems so stylish because she's very talented and great at what she does." That's certainly a deeper reason to be a role model than just being married to a rich footballer!

'Gun' is their most recent single.

Their next big tour starts in their home town Glasgow on October 10th.
Playing many festivals and all over the world has made them already an accomplished live act who can get the crowd groovin'.

Lots of energy live. 'Lies'

'Bless us heavenly father as we are so good it's a sin!'

Finally
Their debut album is out now.

The Naked and Famous

I like The Naked & Famous and watched them live 2 years ago. I'm surprised that their career has not taken them to bigger fame and acclaim.

Songs such as 'Punching In A Dream' and 'Young Blood' had great vocals and anthem potential but they still have not fulfilled their talent and real fireworks in their career still await that crucial spark. This is how they looked back then.
Their new album In Rolling Waves was released this week and is the result of the band moving to LA to pour everything they have into the record. 'Hearts Like Ours' is the lead single.

As always it's singer Alisa Xayalith's haunting vocals that grab you.

I think the video and the styling are missed opportunities for this single. Badass lead singers don't sit comfortably on sofas wearing cream sweaters. She's the main asset and upping the style and impact would help the talents of the band get more recognition. Think Hayley Williams of Paramore.
They spent a lot of time touring and this can often be draining and lead to things getting stale. I've read this about a lot of bands in NME magazine.

Alisa and co-singer Thom Powers's relationship  had teething troubles during the last two years and provided inspiration for the new album. That works really well for Adele!

I think their music could get edgier and have more attitude. Get angry guys!

Stick it to the man!

Alisa's feisty vocals on ' Punching In A Dream' is what I'm talking about.

Finally

You have the talent

You have the style

Maybe it's time to join Haim!

The new is album out now and received 7/10 from NME magazine.

Jake Bugg

He's the super skilled guitarist and singing 18 year old with a Number 1 album already in the bag. His song Lightning Bolt was played at the Olympics for Usain Bolt. His music is a catchy blend of Folk/Rock. He's feted by all and compared to Bob Dylan. He's Jake Bugg!

Here's 'Lightning Bolt'

A talented songwriter, his lyrics have real depth and give good flavour to his growing up in Nottingham. Tales of gangters and violence give a gritty feel to some of his songs.

At Cochella.
Jake love's smoking weed so much he made a recent Nme journalist join in before he would answer any questions.
"Smoke weed every dayyyyyy!"

'Taste It' is another favourite.

His music sounds fresh as it's eclectic and varied in it's influences. Hints of Oasis, Artic Monkeys, The Las and a 60s vibe.

Next we'd like to present you with 'Two Fingers'.

Finally
We were so lucky to see him live last December at a small gig. He's incredible, the voice, the guitar playing and the atmosphere all fantastic. The slow songs were as brilliant as the rockier tunes.
Catch him later this year on tour.
